Read the passage below and answer the following questions.

David, the famous (　　　) player, didn’t always plan to become a musician. The road to success has been both a sad and a happy one.

David was born in a small English village. His father was often unemployed, so the family was poor. When he was seven, David almost died of a serious lung disease. His condition improved after seven months in hospital but his lungs remained weak. To strengthen them the doctor suggested that he learn an instrument that required blowing or sucking. Thanks to this advice, David chose the (　　　). It was the cheapest instrument he could find! A neighbor happened to be a (　　　) player and agreed to provide free lessons. As a result of the neighbor’s kindness, the strength of David’s lungs improved and so did his musical ability.
